About the Author
Rooted in Spirit. Grounded in Tradition. Blooming in Hustle.
My name is [Your Name], and I am the heart behind Health Hoodoo & Hustle.
I’m a proud African American woman, born and raised in Los Angeles, where the city lights met deep Southern roots that run through my blood like a sacred river. My mother’s people hail from South Carolina, my father’s from Mississippi, and my beloved Granny—who helped raise me—came up from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was her hands, her stories, and her old ways that helped shape the foundation of who I am today.
From Catholic school hallways to Baptist church pews, I learned early the rhythm of faith, the presence of the Creator, and the comfort of knowing angels and ancestors are never far. I was baptized young and again when I was grown enough to choose it for myself. Spirit was always close. Channeling energy, calling on what’s unseen, and honoring both tradition and intuition have always felt natural—because they are.
I’ve spent my entire career working in social services—walking alongside people as they navigate life’s hardest seasons. But it wasn’t until a life-altering experience turned my focus inward that I realized how vital wellness truly is. Not just the kind you can see on the surface, but the kind that roots itself in your spirit, your habits, your rituals, and your hustle.
Health Hoodoo & Hustle was born from that realization: that health is sacred, that ancestral wisdom is medicine, and that hustle isn’t just about the grind—it’s about putting energy into what you truly want, not just what has to be done. Sometimes that’s changing careers. Sometimes it’s reclaiming joy. Sometimes it’s both.
This space is my offering—a blend of natural care, folk magic, spiritual grounding, and entrepreneurial grit. But more than anything, it’s a community. A place for women who want to feel seen, supported, and strong in their purpose. A space to remember that healing and hustling can go hand in hand.
